MONTE VISTA HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 2027

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I like bringing people together. Sometimes with music. Sometimes one swim lesson at a time.

CURIOUS BY NATURE.
HAPPIEST CONTRIBUTING.

I'm a senior at Monte Vista High School in Danville, California. I'm an upright bassist, a swim instructor, and president of Monte Vista’s Love For Our Elders club. The common thread? Listening closely, being patient, and showing up for the people around me.

01 / TEACHING & MENTORSHIP

A little patience.
A lot of possibility.

Helping someone feel at home in the water is one of my favorite ways to spend a summer.

AT THE POOL & BEYOND

Confidence
starts small.

As a swim instructor, lifeguard, and program leader with the Town of Danville, I teach private and group lessons and adapt my approach to each swimmer.

Some lessons call for a clear demonstration. Others take encouragement and another try. I enjoy finding a way to explain things that makes sense to the person in front of me.

PEER TUTORING

Working through it together.

That same interest led me to Schoolhouse.world, where I became a certified tutor and completed an eight-session SAT Bootcamp. Preparing for each session gives me practice making my own reasoning clear.

READY TO RESPOND

Safety is part of teaching.

I'm a Red Cross certified lifeguard and have completed Community Emergency Response Team training through the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District.

02 / MUSIC & COLLABORATION

Finding my place
in the ensemble.

I started on violin. When my orchestra needed a bassist, I picked up a different instrument—and found a role I wanted to grow into.

WITH THE ENSEMBLE

As principal bass and section leader since ninth grade, I help lead sectionals and support other players as we work toward a shared sound.

Orchestra has become a place to practice both musicianship and dependability. A good rehearsal asks you to know your part, hear what everyone else is doing, and make the group better.

03 / COMMUNITY & LEADERSHIP

President of
Love For
Our Elders.

MONTE VISTA HIGH SCHOOL · PRESIDENT SINCE SPRING 2026

As president of Monte Vista’s Love For Our Elders club, I help bring students together to connect with older members of our community.

I became president in spring 2026 after serving as vice president in fall 2025. Through letter-writing campaigns and senior service, our club makes time for connection across generations.

AROUND TOWN

Being useful, wherever I can.

My volunteer experiences include Loaves & Fishes, the Danville Library, town holiday events, senior yardwork, and the San Ramon community garden.

SHOWING UP, IN SMALL WAYS

Connection takes
many forms.

Sometimes it's a letter. Sometimes it's helping set up a community celebration or making a craft table feel welcoming.

01 / COMMUNICATION

Finding my voice.

Congressional debate pushed me to research, write, listen, and think on my feet. In tenth and eleventh grades, I earned fourth- and third-place House finishes and advanced to Senate-level competition.

One project: drafting and defending a proposed four-day school week in a debate setting.

02 / ATHLETICS

Practice that adds up.

I've been swimming with HOX since age eight and with Monte Vista since ninth grade. I swim freestyle and relays, and step into butterfly when the team needs me.

Strength training is another part of my routine. I received the HOX Neal Johnson Pop Time Award for personal improvement in 2024 and 2025.

On two wheels

Alongside swimming, I raced mountain bikes from sixth through ninth grade. Riding with a team brought challenge, friendships, and a connection to the outdoors.
